Port Safety

In year 2002, The International Maritime Organization (IMO) enacted that before July 1, 2004 all harbours and ships in international service, must carry out a range of measures with the threat of international terror in mind. The requirements, as described in ISPS (The international ship and port facility security code) and SOLAS chapter XI-2, establish what harbours have to attend to and what to coordinate with other authorities.
