Sea transport
At NLMK DanSteel A/S we have our own harbour from where approximately 70 % of our production is loaded on coasters and transported directly to our customers. We also unload the majority of semi-finished products (slabs) used in our production.
The stevedore company, A. Henriksen Shipping A/S, is in charge of loading and unloading of ships and also agent to all arriving ships.
The location of our harbour in Roskilde Fjord sets limits on size and draught of the ships.
The harbour's draught is maximum 5.5 - 6.0 metres. With regard to safe navigation in the harbour, ships cannot extend 130 metres.
Railroad transport
NLMK DanSteel A/S has its own railway in direct link to public railway. Approximately 15 % of the plate production is sent to our customers by railway. CFL-Cargo Denmark ApS is in charge of picking up loaded wagons and delivery of empty wagons two times a week (Tuesday and Thursday). In Ringsted Railion Denmark A/S take over the transport and the delivery to our customers. Our own locomotives maintain all internal shunting.
Road transport
Approximately 15 % of our plate production is transported to customers by road. |
